Condos are not the same as single family homes because the exterior of the condo is the responsibility of a condo owners association. You will pay monthly dues that go to this association to maintain the exterior of the condos and the common ground shared by all who live in the complex. This is different from a home owners association in a neighborhood of houses.

The home owners association of a neighborhood will be responsible for the common grounds but not responsible for the exterior of the homes…that is the individual owner’s responsibility. Because the exterior of a condo and the common grounds are kept up by the condo owners association, it is important that the association is well managed and has the adequate funds to maintain the property and repair any issue with the exteriors or common areas.
